Underground electricity wire system

Earthquake of yesterday earlier declared of 8.1 magnitude at rector scale and then of 7.7 had made the earth tremble in Kohat, electricity poles have been witnessed as dancing, and shaking electricity wires of high voltage inside Paracha Town Kohat, the wires have been always a danger lurking over every ones head in this posh residential area. Only in Islamabad we have underground electricity wires, rest of Pakistan has electricity poles on the ground as support for electricity wires, a grand plan to make under ground electricity wires system for the whole Pakistan might help to save many lives.

Earlier this month a dog and a human being have been hit by a falling high voltage electricity wire in Sur Gull village of Kohat both have lost their lives, earthquakes and fierce windstorms make the wires loose and if not fixed again make them fall on humans and animals sometimes. Underground electricity wires system can help prevent such happenings.

Moreover, people endanger lives in certain areas of Kohat they throw anchors on naked high voltage electricity wires to steal electricity, their this practice causes fluctuation in flow of electricity in the area and causes damage to electronic appliances in homes, more then fifty such electricity thieves were booked by police earlier this year here in Kohat. To stop this theft of electricity on permanent bases, underground electricity wires system is a good option.

Furthermore, electricity poles having loosely hanging high voltage electricity wires endanger lives and are not only a lurking danger over every ones head but also gives ugly look to our cities and villages. During heavy rain fall humans and animals gets often hit by electricity while passing near the electricity poles, during rainfall certain electricity poles gets charged with electricity in densely populated areas, if are touched by children, animals or anyone else can cause their death. Underground electricity supply system will not only remove ugly look from our country of loose hanging electricity wires but can also help prevent deaths of humans and animals as well during rainfall seasons.

With change in climate fierceness of windstorms in Kohat is at increase so is the case with intensity of earthquakes, Peshawar capital of KPK Pakistan has been also witnessing fierce windstorms these days, Many other cities of Pakistan are also experiencing this phenomena due to climatic changes. Intensity of earthquakes is also at increase due to geological factors. Rain fall has also become more frequent phenomena here. Electricity theft through anchor throwing is at increase. To avoid all these risks and losses like electricity theft and getting shocked by electricity pole in rainy season, It will be prudent to take immediate measures regarding initiation of underground electricity wires system plan to make our people safe. Pakistan WAPDA executives and engineers under supervision of our able minister for Water and Power Khwaja Muhamad Asif sahib and our able prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif sahib must show their metal and shall come up with underground electricity wires system on model of Islamabad for the rest of Pakistan too save the lives of our people.

Civil, political and economic rights

Capitalism in its modified form implemented by Franklin D Roosevelt in USA to bring out USA from economic depression is an answer to the ongoing debate between communist and capitalist world. Claim of communist countries that democracy provides civil and political rights to the people but cripples their economic rights is based on false assumptions. Democracy coupled with welfare measures has not only given civil and political rights to the people in USA and in Western democracies but has also protected their economic rights too.

Firstly, communist revolutions both in China and Soviets Union have caused the deaths of millions of people, and had brought the people under one party dictatorship, political and civil rights of the people were curbed there and limitations were also imposed upon their economic rights, people confined in communes have also lost their freedom of movement. Neither the bloodshed during revolutions there can be termed as welfare measure nor the limitations on economic rights there can be perceived as protection of economic rights.

Moreover, curbs on political and civil rights in communist countries had adversely effected the lives of their citizens, humans were turned into machines. millions have lost their lives during revolution and after revolution have started living in a very inhuman dictatorial set up. Post revolution environment in communist countries has been not conducive for growth of individual personalities but has been like a modified form of slavery, basic needs have been provided to each individual citizen, while members of communist party have been living in luxury, ordinary citizens economic rights have been limited to their basic need.

Finally aggression emanated from communist dictatorial setup have eventually exhausted the economy of Soviet Union during its military intervention in Afghanistan. Soviet Union has been disintegrated. China is gradually opening up to the west and is having increased economic ties with USA. Millions of lives wasted during revolutions in both these countries if Karl Marx philosophy would have been tried in democratic setup, at least its welfare aspect and ideology highlighting the methods regarding protection of economic rights of the people.

Small neighbors of large radicalized state

'Partition of subcontinent in 1947 was an outcome of Great Britain's exhausted economy in result of a second world war and and fear of Hindu majority divided on caste lines that in united India All India India Muslim league will win the majority seats. During interim government Liaqat Ali Khan as a finance minister had proved that he has got all the potential to make this happen, by giving a people friendly budget for India. Creation of Pakistan has also saved Muslims and another minorities from frequent brutalization of Hindu majority lead by Mr. Jawahar Lal Nehru and Patel bent upon creating communal hatred to protect the interest of Hindu business class. Thus strengthening of independent state of Pakistan is guarantee for security of remaining Muslim and other minorities in India.

Although Hindu ruling elite in India off and on ignite communal hatred to protect the interest of Hindu business and industrial elites. Strong Pakistan exercise enough pressure to abstain them from these dirty tactics and often provides moral support to minorities in India by raising Kashmir issue on international platforms, where Indian Army is committing atrocities at large scale since long. Sikh minority of India also get moral support from Pakistan when ruling Hindu elite crushes Sikh minority to protect the interest of few by diverting attention of its people from real issues. Pakistan's support for minorities in India limits the cruel impact of narrow minded leadership of India on its minorities often.

Though states of Sikkim and Bhutan are now become solely dependent upon India, Seri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal have successfully resisted Indian hegemonic tactics in this region. Once the visiting Indian Prime Minister Rajive Gandhi was hit in head by a Seri Lankan soldier during parade in his honor. Pakistan had fought three major wars with India to remain an independent sovereign state. India's philosophy of Akhand Baharat which includes subcontinent and Middle East as part of ancient India and revival of its previous status through conversion of their populace back to Hindu religion, is a basic motive of Indian establishment patronizing SS and other extremist Hindu organizations. Small neighbors of India specially Seri Lanka keeps close ties with Pakistan to resist India’s expansionist designs. Strong Pakistan can also help small states included in map of ancient India to remain sovereign and independent countries.Through out cold war period India was a close ally of Soviet Union and had a defense pact with Soviet Union. Western world lead by USA was having alliance relationship with Pakistan through SEATO and CENTO. In war on terror after nine eleven incidents Pakistan had openly honored its commitments with USA. Strengthening of Pakistan defenses and economy goes into the interest of US lead free world.

International community shall realize that narrow minded radicalized leadership of India represents only Hindu business and industrial elite, due to prevailing caste system in India even majority of Hindu population known as Dalits or low caste Hindus are in difficult situation along with other Muslim, Christian and Sikh minorities currently dwelling in India. Small neighbors of India like Sikkim and Bhutan are virtually turned into Indian satellite states. Keeping in view the alliance relationship of Pakistan with free world lead by USA and its strategic importance as soul supporter of small neighbors of India resisting its hegemonic designs like Seri Lanka, Bangla Desh, Nepal and small kingdoms and sheikhdoms of Middle East, it is so vivid a fact that strengthening of Pakistan's defense and economy will serve the interest of humanity as well.

Though it may be ideal if Indian establishment become truly democratic and starts striving to limit its expansionist designs by spending upon teeming millions in India whom are deprived of even basic necessities and where farmers commit suicides every year due to economic reasons. Keeping the present Indian leadership maneuvers in view It goes into every ones interest to strengthen democracy, its defense capabilities and its economy.

Afghan refugees lack civic sense

Years ago, when Afghan refugees came to Kohat after Soviet invasion of Afghanistan our suburban areas were not so troubled as they are now. Our villages here are inhabited by retired armed forces men of different ranks and are also a home of in service men and officers and their families and clans. With arrival of Afghan refugees in millions, mud houses were gradually created inside Kohat city and in its suburban areas to accommodate refugee families. Lacking civic sense the refugee families have become a source of trouble here in the district, and needs to be confined in camps.

Firstly, no Afghan refugee family believes in keeping their dogs, sheep, donkeys and cows away from streets of suburban area known as Paracha Town Kohat, in adjacent area of it they dwell in mud houses. In hot summers and in extremely hot winters their dogs become a road hazards within the streets of this town. Their donkey once had kicked a local student of primary school and had injured him badly. One of their cow had also hit a local motorcycle rider with her horns in his abdomen and had turned him blue with pain. This situation demands their restricted stay within camps.

Moreover, on busy Kohat Pindi road adjacent to Paracha Town Kohat Afghan refugees walk along their flock of sheep and hamper the fast moving traffic there, once number of sheep were killed when were hit by a speedy passenger coach on this road. Their restricted movement inside their camps can save their cattle and can also ensure smooth traffic on roads.

Secondly, Afghan refugee children, women, men  walk freely inside this town along with their dogs and they knock every door without taking the time limit into consideration. No matter if local dwellers of the town are sleeping in the afternoon, if these refugees feel like knocking your door they will do it. Refugee junk sellers also walk around freely in this town and are a source of big security concern for the dwellers here. UNHCR shall review their camps and shall enhance the capacity of these camps to make them comfortably restricted inside camps having all their needs fulfilled.

http://www.groundreport.com/wp-admin/edit.php
To bring back peace in our troubled villages and cities due to free movement of Afghan refugees devoid of civic sense and to avoid further attacks on our schools and to get rid of lurking danger in shape of Afghan refugee junk sellers on our streets, it is high time to urge UN to consider either confinement of Afghan refugees inside the camps along with provision of all basic necessities to them or ensure their safe return to Afghanistan, now that learned President Ashraf Ghani and Abdulah Abdullah are elected president and chief executive of Afghanistan, UN job of resettlement of Afghan refugees back in Afghanistan has become much more easier. Afghan refugees proven involvement in attack on APSC Peshawar and other anti local activities are indications of growth of all evils in them related to longer stay of people as refugees. keeping ongoing war in Qundoz Afghanistan in view the only viable option is their confinement within camps here in Kohat because most of them living in Kohat are from Qundouz Afghanistan.

Messages from inside Nepal in the wake of its undeclared economic blockade from India

Image of Nepal as country good for love and romance was built in my mind in year 1988, when an Attorney of San Francisco and his lovely wife had revealed before me at dinner table in their home that both had met in Khatmando capital of Nepal for the first time and again in San Francisco and then have decided to get married.

Back in Pakistan I had viewed few movies about Nepal and then my busy schedule had never let me visit Nepal but it was there in my mind as resort where my Attorney friend had found his life partner, though both were US citizens had met there in Khatmando by chance, and another coincidence that they were from same state in USA and have met again there and where my university fellow Sanoo lives.

Recent devastating earthquake in Nepal had again made Nepal focus of my attention as journalist, though I am based here in Kohat and again was unable to reach there because am duty bound here in this district, thanks to the facebook on which world has become a family and people around the world are got connected to each other, I was able to help innocent and lovely people of Nepal by passing messages received from Nepal on that website to appropriate people capable of helping people of Nepal.

Today in the morning I had received message from Nepal which had once again made me think and act swiftly. The message stated 'India had asked to halt the declaration of new constitution in Nepal as some minority groups were agitating but Nepal did not do it as the time of declaration was already fixed and after the declaration of Nepal's constitution 2015, it started blocking.'

Nepal is a landlocked country and aid goods to earthquake hit Nepal were coming through India, so for above reasons India had opted for undeclared economic blockade of Nepal. The message from inside Nepal further states 'It's India's trick very small amount of goods being sent to Nepal... one checkpoint that imports 70% goods is fully blocked. Very Small amount is coming from other checkpoints.... the routes to China are disturbed due to earthquake in Nepal/ the government is seeking alternative ways.'

The most alarming part of the message is 'Nepal is 100% reliant on imports of fuel from India. Now the country is suffering from fuel crisis lack of petrol, aviation fuel, diesel and cooking gas.'

http://www.groundreport.com/wp-admin/edit.phpIndia's undeclared blockade of Nepal can be evaded states the message 'China is the alternative way... and it vows to do any kind of help but the routes connecting China are disconnected due to earthquake air routes are available.'

The messages from inside Nepal are reflecting prevailing difficult situation there in an earthquake hit country, due to undeclared economic blockade by India. Once again people of Nepal need help from rest of the humanity, it is also concern of humanitarian aid agencies, governments of UN member countries and UN itself, some immediate measures in the light of above messages can save many lives in Nepal.

Post hair cut traditional fierce head massage

I was having these feelings that it is risky to update my facebook status since long, in fact an fb friend working in American secret service have warned me once to abstain from this practice to avoid any possible harm. Yesterday when I updated my status regarding visit of a barber shop for hair cut prior to have that, the moment I reached there three customers were inside the barber shop, young barber was doing hair cut of one and two others were awaiting their turn.
After exchange of few friendly words with young barber I have confirmed my turn, barber had assured me within half an hour he will be free for my hair cut, so I placed myself on a chair kept out there near the entrance of barber shop, near to me in another chair a Guava fruit seller was sitting along with his cart having heap of fresh Guava fruit on it.
Our star bird a Qulangi hen is not in good health since last many days, a bird doctor in my neighborhood has migrated to Missouri USA since long, and this year he didn’t turn up to celebrate Eid with his family in Kohat, we have tried some medicines on her, she is getting better, she had a paralysis attack on her neck, partial damage has been done to her and needs check up from specialist. The Guava fruit seller turned out to be a good source of information regarding bird’s diseases; he had suggested Terramycine Capsules for her cure. Half an hour was passed finally I went into the barber shop again for my turn.
Inside the barber shop young barber was trying to do hair cut of semi bald man, his scissor was dancing around the sides of his head where the complete hair were there but was avoiding few hair on top of his head. Finally he had also used his scissor on top of his head too after getting permission from him, and at the end of hair cut he had started traditional fierce head massage of semi bald man’s head.
At this point I intervened and asked the barber to give light massage to his head, because the traditional fierce massage will not only damage his already damaged hair but can also harm his skull and the stuff inside it. I had also educated him to avoid use of brush to remove hair from his face because the brush can damage his eyes.
At my turn semi bald customer was out from the barber shop, I had asked the barber to change the scissor and comb which he had used in his head, and use other ones to cut my hair. Finally I was out from his sop with my hair cut done, I never allow any barber since my child hood to give traditional fierce post hair cut massage on my head or clean my face with brush, which is a normal practice here in barber shops.

Pulao (rice dish)

Pulao is a traditional dish here in Kohat district of Pakistan, which is being cooked normally at homes in different ways, and  on occasions of happiness and grief this dish is served to the guests. On happy occasions like weddings this rice dish is cooked by barbers/cooks within Kohat city and in its suburban areas. Huge cooking pots called' 'Deig' filled with rice and beef along with spices and water are being kept on wood fire burning under these cooking pots in fire pots .Along with saltish Pulao, cooking pot filled with sweet rice known as Zarda is also cooked on happy occasions..One or two huge cooking pots filled with beef, pulse Chana and water along with spices and salt are also part of the rice dish on weddings and other occasions. This mixture of beef and pulse Channa when cooked is called Qourma.

Once the rice dish Pulao is cooked, then it is served in large plates along with Qorma and Zarda, Qourma is usually served in bowls, while Zarda is spread at the side of large plate filled with Pulao rice. The guests pour Qourma over the rice plate from bowl and can ask for more Qourma and Zarda along with Pulao if are not contented with their first served plates.

Afghan Pulao, is a best form of this rice dish, it lacks Qourma and Zarda as auxiliary items, beef or mutton with rice along with spices, and dry grapes are cooked and served in large round plates to the guests in hotels often. The dish is not so hot and spicy that is why is so popular here in Kohat. In homes as part of routine menu it is popular among the family members because of the softness and saltish and bit sweet taste of the dish. Dry grapes  adds sweet taste to it. It gives immense appetite increase to the eater when he or she looks at it and feels its taste emissions in mouth while eating it.

On Eid days Pulao dish is usually taken at lunch in each house hold. During month of fasting it is being taken at dinner usually here in Kohat.

Kohat

Kohat is a beautiful and well protected district, is having garrison built by British rulers, and further developed by Pakistan Armed Forces. Inter Services Selection Board is situated here in Kohat Garrison, so each officer of Pakistan Armed Forces owes his selection to ISSB in Kohat. These selected officers, when reaches to higher rank they always contribute further to development of Kohat district.

Valley of Kohat is surrounded by high, dry and lofty mountains; its water springs are famous for emitting fresh, clean and cool water, giving big boast to our agricultural sector in the plains of this district.

The district is having remnants of old civilizations, old fort remnants on hills of its Muhammad Zai village, and a cave in it is a source of attraction for archeologists.

The district is also famous for its Guava gardens, this fruit is good for stomach related problems and adds long years to one’s active life.

The oil rich district of Kohat is so blessed with this natural resource that landowners in Qamar area of Kohat dig oil wells in their lands through methods devised by themselves and are selling into market on very cheap rates.

Kohat district has been turned into Boston of USA, numerous schools, colleges and universities in government and private sector are operational here, this mushroom growth of educational institutions here has been witnessed during past few decades.

To live in Kohat, one needs to get prepared for a very high cost of living. From mutton to beef and vegetables, including fruits and other necessary items are beyond the purchasing power of people residing here in Kohat. Heavy influx of Afghan refugees and internally displaced people from tribal area of Pakistan has made Kohat dangerous place to live in.

To escape excessive heat, one feels like remain sitting in air conditioned room here in Kohat during hot summer season. To escape heat during traveling from home to college, I had managed to hire vehicle to reach their and to deliver lectures.

The district is around at a three hundred kilometers distance from Pak-Afghan border, as such it is a front line district in war on terror. We all work hard to keep it secure, round the clock  joint search operations of Pakistan security forces and police keeps it away from dangers.

President Obama sounds logical

Last night I came across video of a press conference held by Russian President Mr. Viladimir Putin; a cartoonist friend had posted the video on facebook, and whatsoever said by Mr. Putin during the press conference was translated into English, so I am not so sure what he has actually said because I don't know Russian language. From translation of his speech I had deduced that on Syria his stance was quite weak; he was of the view that USA should not have created awareness in Syrian people, the protests against Bashar ul Asad were outcome of  that awareness, he was unwilling to accept the right of freedom of information and expression of Syrian public, he has also not condemned brutalization of Syrian protesters and was firm in his support for Asad regime.

Mr. Putin had also blamed USA for upheavals in Iraq and Lybia, and had held USA responsible for murder of US ambassador in Lybia. At the end of his press conference he had remembered the support Russia provided to people of USA during their war of independence, and alliance relationship during world war two.

Soviets are largely responsible for apprehensions prevailing in the free and developed world, their occupation of Eastern Europe after second world war and intervention in Afghanistan, had made every one believe that to avert such happenings defeat of a dictatorial ideology prevailing anywhere in the world including Soviet Union must be replaced by democratic thinking.

President Obama sounds more logical and appealing to the world, when he says that Asad regime should not have brutalized peaceful protesters in Syria; his regime has started war on the people and whatsoever the situation in Syria is, that is outcome of Asad regimes brutalities against its own people.

Quality of education in KPK
