Biological Factor of Intellectual and Moral Bankruptcy

Intellectual growth of a society depends upon number of factors, biological factor plays dominant role in this respect. USA is a story of last few centuries, its discovery by Mr. Columbus was followed by large scale immigrations from Europe and other continents of the world and within shortest span of two hundred years USA has become dominant actor in international affairs due to its superior economic and military might. Tremendous intellectual growth in USA has been witnessed during past two centuries, civilizations have melted in USA thus intermarriages between people of different races resulted in production of healthy and intellectually potent generations, as compare to subcontinent where marriages among the people of same tribe are common since centuries and consequently production of biologically inferior generations is the outcome. Thus subcontinent is lagging behind in terms of having well organized state and governmental structure, both in India and Pakistan prevailing discrimination and absence of welfare system is a clear evidence of intellectual bankruptcy of its inhabitants, though subcontinent has a long history of civilization.

Moral and intellectual bankruptcy leads a society towards decline, Pakistan during its brief history has witnessed tremendous degeneration in this respect, in 1971 Pakistan was dismembered and its eastern wing is now known as Bangla Desh. Causes behind dismemberment of Pakistan were numerous but the main cause was moral and intellectual bankruptcy of its inhabitants at all levels. During last few decades with enhanced interaction between USA and Pakistan at government and people to people level Pakistan has witnessed tremendous growth and development in all sectors.

In brief enhanced friendly interaction between USA, India and Pakistan will further pave the way for intellectual growth in subcontinent. Pakistan is quite a rich country, only from its three diamonds mines in Swat can it can generate enough wealth for payment of its international debts. Due to prevailing moral and intellectual bankruptcy people of Pakistan are facing economic hardships. Leadership able to utilize the available resources in Pakistan can bring out people of Pakistan from this difficult situation. PPPP lead coalition government has enough potential to manage the resources of Pakistan efficiently, during next few years major breakthrough has become eminent in this respect.

Pak-India Relations

Dr. Sardar Manmohan Singh when became Prime Minister of India it was a sort of pleasant surprise for educated few in India and Pakistan. He is PhD in economics from Oxford University, Indian leadership in the past was never so educated, my personal experience reflects that Pakistan in this respect is still lagging behind, and highly educated few in Pakistan due to their numerical inferiority are slaves of uneducated and less educated majority for all practical purposes. Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto were educated enough and have succeeded to gain political power but both were martyred and now their shrines are focus of attention of illiterate masses.

Interestingly both Indian and Pakistani leadership seldom talks about constitutional rights of the people and mostly abstain from giving statements regarding welfare of the public at government level. In his speech before parliament Sardar Manmohan Singh has rightly said that improved relations between India and Pakistan can result in economic development of both countries. In fact due to absence of welfare system at government level in both India and Pakistan, extremism prevails in both countries. Superstition is outcome of illiteracy and in economically underdeveloped societies frustrated, superstitious illiterate masses behind their opportunist leaders focus their energies on turning the mosques into temples and temples into mosques. Illiterate or less educated leaders misguide the masses for their own economic gains. In the past eventual outcome of this sorry state of affairs were three wars between India and Pakistan, and now that both have attained the status of nuclear power prevailing illiteracy, religious intolerance, superstition, economic backwardness, and opportunism in subcontinent might result in a nuclear war between both India and Pakistan.

Pakistan Peoples Party lead by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had taken drastic measures to make Pakistan a welfare state, present leadership of PPPP is also striving to achieve this goal, Prime Minister Gailani also is in favor of improved relations with India. To eliminate extremism on permanent bases in both India and Pakistan requires educated leadership at all levels, having belief in clauses of fundamental rights which are part of their constitutions and UN Charter, and shall be willing to implement these clauses in letter and spirit.

Fascism in disguise of democracy in both India and Pakistan has strong roots in political culture of both these countries. Developed democracies lead by USA once become free of biases concerning their racial superiority and if stop looking down upon both India and Pakistan, and if become truly willing to help them out to overcome illiteracy and economic backwardness, the world will become more better and safer place to live.

Calm and Heavily Guarded Capital of Pakistan Amid Victory Against Terror

On Thursday morning I had started my journey from Kohat towards federal capital of Pakistan Islamabad, while moving on heavily guarded Kohat Pindi road in a public transport vehicle towards Islamabad, near Khushal Garh bridge I have seen bunkers of Pakistan Army men along with police check posts on both sides of the bridge, armed with heavy weapons young and highly vigilant soldiers were smartly dressed and their moral was quite high, rain showers from Nakbund onwards have made the weather pleasant and severe heat wave of last few days were no more a danger of heat stroke. I came out from public transport vehicle near entry point of Islamabad and had hired a cab to reach APP head office.

While moving in a taxi cab on a heavily guarded road in Islamabad eventually I have reached APP head office building, and from their in APP official transport vehicle soon I was heading towards Information Ministry located near Presidency and Parliament building in Islamabad.

Seasoned bureaucrat and thorough gentleman Mr. Mansoor Suhail additional Federal Information Secretary of Pakistan has been also working as Managing Director of Associated Press of Pakistan, I had met him once in New York while he was working as Pakistan’s representative in United Nation, it was September 1988 and I was in USA to study US election campaign along with my other three class fellows.

Now while working with Associated Press of Pakistan as part time correspondent in Kohat district of Pakistan, I had met him once again in his office in Islamabad on Thursday. He was kind enough in giving me appointment when I had requested his staff for appointment last week on telephone from Kohat.

When I came out from Information Ministry building it was lunch time I had again hired a cab to reach Super Market and after brief research I have succeeded to find out an American fast food restaurant, within the Super market many European ladies along with their Pakistani translators were moving around. Amid high security measures Islamabad is now a much safer place and people were confidently moving around without any fear.

American fast food restaurant was overcrowded and customers were waiting in queue to buy their lunch before counter, a young girl along with her two male colleagues was serving the customers present on counter. After having lunch in a taxi cab I came back APP head office again.

Early in the evening again I was heading back towards Kohat, while passing through Rawalpindi in Public transport vehicle on heavily guarded road I have realized that government has taken enough measures to combat terrorism. Twin cities of Islamabad and Pindi were never so filled with uniformed policemen before. In fact Mr. Richard Hall Brook was also present in Islamabad but the security measures were quite permanent in nature taken in both the cities.

Generally moral of the high ups and general public in Islamabad was quite high, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yosuf Raza Gailani and top brass of Pakistan Army including its valiant men and officers have succeeded to jointly eliminate a most potent threat to civil society posed by Fascist militants of Swat and other tribal areas of Pakistan up to larger extent.

WAPDA load shedding and price hike are two other potent threats to the civil society in Pakistan, WAPDA load shedding amid severe heat wave earlier this week have caused uproar in NWFP and Punjab, violent protestors had damaged a rail in a district of Punjab, media reports reflect that in Punjab province women folk have also staged protest demonstrations against long durations of load shedding of electricity. Prime Minister Gailani has assured public regarding resolution of load shedding problem and President Asif Ali Zardari had also stressed the need for end of WAPDA load shedding and had pointed out that public can not tolerate absence of electricity for long durations any more.

Natural Fountains of Water

Natural Fountains of water in the heart of Kohat city since centuries are flowing smoothly, near spring origins water is cool and transparent, natives of Kohat swim in it during hot summers, and use it for irrigation. Sweet and cool water of springs near the origins of spring is also good for drinking. Baba Guru Nanak had a stay for some time in Kohat and was camped near the spring.

Before partition Hindu’s, Muslims and Sikh communities of Kohat were equally benefiting from spring water. Elders in Kohat tell the stories about Muslim and Hindu women washing their clothes at the bank of these natural fountains of water, and quarrelling because Hindu women can not tolerate splashes of water falling on them after touching the bodies of Muslim women. Hindu ladies feel that they become infidel (Dharam Bhrusht) after getting few drops of water on their bodies which were deflected from the bodies of Muslim women.

After partition of subcontinent large scale migration of Hindu and Sikh community to India had left these natural fountains of water as sole domain of Muslim community in Kohat.

Elders narrate the story of pretty and rich Hindu girl Koshalia, a Muslim man fall in love with her but because, of religious differences was unable to get married to Koshalia, and he went mad finally, the mad lover used to wonder in the streets of Kohat while singing a song about Koshalia, his song was focused on prediction that Koshalia will rule and will wear crown of gold on her head.
