Facts are Facts

Tehrik I Taliban spokesman had denied any involvement in murder of Journalist Musa Khan Khel killed in Swat this week, but fear prevails among the journalists working in Swat and many of them had returned back from the turbulent region of Swat. But the fact remains that soon after finalization of accord between NWFP government and Maulana Sufi Muhammad the specific brand of car in which Musa Khan Khel was picked and killed, near Kohat Convent the same type of car filled with bearded suspects had came near me in Kohat, but no harm was done to me probably due to presence of security forces men near the Church gate and traffic police constable in the square where I was trying to get a transport for myself to reach back home.

Journalists working in Pakistan are victims of exploitation and are facing extreme hardships and risks, so far four journalists were killed in Swat, Pakistani news papers, news agencies and private TV channels either do not pay anything to their correspondents working in remote areas or pay too little, as compare to American journalists whom are always equipped with bullet proof jackets and helmets while giving live coverage to armed clashes between Pakistan security forces and militants any where in Pakistan, Pakistani journalists and photographers are not equipped with any such protective equipments.

Press freedom without right of life for journalists is meaningless, journalists are also part of Pakistani society and at no pretext right of life can be snatched from them or their family members, government shall take effective measures to provide protection to each citizen of Pakistan and shall avoid compromise solutions while dealing with militants.

NWFP ruling party ANP leader Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan had lead Pukhtoons on path of progress and development while adopting and promoting ideology of nonviolence, and in February 2008 elections ANP had won all the provincial Assembly seats in troubled area of Swat. Militants are trying to create fear in public by doing crimes against humanity in Swat, which is purely the concern of law enforcing agencies and security forces present in Swat to save the people of Swat, NWFP ruling ANP while compromising with militants is deviating from path of nonviolence and paving the way for further violence by giving free hand to militants in NWFP.

Fascist Mullah Kills Journalists

Kohat Press Club members protest demonstration over murder of Musa Khan Khel

A journalist was martyred in Matta tehsil of Swat on Wednesday, according to VOA Urdu news report deceased Musa Khan Khel was working for a private TV channel, along with other journalist he was giving coverage to Maulana Sufi Muhammad during a peace rally, he was abducted and killed by miscreants in Matta area of Swat. NWFP provincial minister Mian Iftikhar had condemned the violent incident.

Swat valley since last many years is in grip of Taliban fascists bent upon killing their opponents in the name of Islam, according to a columnist of Urdu daily Express recently a person was hanged to death till death in Swat because his shalwar was covering his ankles and the dictate of Fascist Mullah Fazlullah was that shalwar of every individual shall be above the ankles.

Madness which prevails in Swat district of NWFP emanates from 248 armed bandits of Maulana Fazlullah whom are beyond control of Pakistan security forces, Maulana Sufi Muhammad after signing accord with NWFP government along with his disciples from last two days is conducting public meetings and promising justice to the people through Islamic courts.

The Taliban fascists now ruling Swat will provide the kind of justice which neither Islam nor any other religion permits, extremely interventionist ideology of Taliban fascists is a big shame for Islam and rest of the Muslim Ummah and civilized world. Islam does not allow killings of unarmed and educated civilians, martyrdom of journalist Musa Khankhel is a heinous crime both NWFP and federal government shall ensure security to its citizens by taking immediate steps to stop madness in Swat, Pakistan constitution does not allow agreements with criminals and bandits.

International community shall also take notice of this situation and help Pakistan government and its security forces to stop expected genocide of civilians in Swat through so called Islamic courts, and to provide physical and financial security to the journalists working in NWFP province of Pakistan.

Constitutional Reforms in Pakistan

Democracy under 1973 constitution which was further amended democratically elected Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Mian Nawaz Sharif, military dictators General Zia and Parvez Musharaf from 1973 onwards is still functional in Pakistan and comparatively in a better way then any other third world country. Genetic inheritance of our people having the imprints of hundreds of years kingship and long periods of military rule will gradually transform into democratic mod of behavior of our people provided they can experience the true freedoms guaranteed by our constitution.

Our present leaders in power and in opposition are quite experienced and freedom loving people, all of them had spent long and short durations of time in European democracies for one reason or another, normally political leadership and political parties educate the masses and create consciousness among them regarding their constitutional rights and duties, level of consciousness among masses determines future of democracy, and high degree of consciousness hampers the way of adventurers bent upon imposing one man rule over them. The knowledge and experience gained by our formerly exiled and self exiled political leadership if disseminate itself into masses, democracy will be further strengthened in Pakistan.

Pakistan does not need new constitution or a social contract but the anomalies present in the present constitution hampering existence of truly independent judiciary having ample checks on it, shall be dealt with through parliament, and any further initiatives required to get rid of two executive heads in shape of President and Prime Minister, our democratically elected parliament has to opt for Presidential or Parliamentary form of government, US presidential system is best suited for a federation and Pakistan too is a federation.

At the same time our ruling and opposition leaders shall upgrade and modify existing government institutions to make their role compatible with constitutional guarantees regarding fundamental rights of the people. Up gradation of our security and intelligence agencies is also need of the hour. Disciplined and better equipped armed forces willing to work under constitutional rulers will further strengthened the democracy, all necessary measures to ensure the constitutional role of armed forces shall be taken and political leadership shall abstain from involving armed forces into politics, it shall concentrate on winning the masses by making appropriate and popular measures to win popular support for their rule through ballot, in the past certain leaders of small political parties having no backing in the masses were found guilty of writing letters to Army officers inviting them to stage a coup against popularly elected prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Such practices were resulted in dismemberment of Pakistan in 1971, leadership at all levels shall understand that military dictatorship brings armed forces into conflict with people of Pakistan and such phenomena is real threat to existence of our federation.

Escaping Youth

Naib Nazim Khushal Garh Muhammad Farooq Khan
Mushroom growth of religious seminaries within Islamabad capital of Pakistan and rest of Pakistan is a clear indicator of deteriorating economic condition of the people in Pakistan, these seminaries provide free religious education, boarding house and free food to their students, very few among the rich do send their children to religious seminaries.
Pakistan’s successive governments were unable to provide economic security to Pakistani citizens in terms of employment and unemployment allowance for unemployed, parents of low income groups can not afford to send their children to private schools or to government schools, by sending their children to religious seminaries they get rid of the burden of provision of food and education to their children.
Because of the love of Islam in the hearts of the people some families opt for religious education for their children, one such student of religious seminary located in Golra Sharif area of Pindi had escaped from his home, 13 years old Tufail is a nephew of a lady currently residing with her husband in USA, Tufail’s father is taxi driver in Pindi and had admitted young Tufail in Golra Sharif religious seminary, according to his uncle Muhammad Farroq Khan Naib Nazim Union Council Khushal Garh Kohat 12 days earlier Tufail had got hold of 18000/- rupees and had escaped from his home. Probably he is now with Jihadi elements and getting training to fight against Pakistan armed forces.
Naib Nazim Farooq had further added that son of dispenser working in Nakbund village had also escaped twice towards Dara Adam Khel tribal area to get training from Jihadi elements, but his father had succeeded to bring him back to his home. He had high lighted one more incident of stealth of rifles from police check post near Nakbund last week, when a young boy frequent visitor of check post had informed the militants that only one policemen is in the check post and others are doing patrolling duty, militants had attacked the check post and had snatched around twelve rifles from the only policeman present in the check post.
According to media reports in a US drone attack number of Taliban militants were killed on Monday morning in lower Kurram agency, exact number of the dead is not known yet. ‘US drone had fired one missile on a meeting place of militants where they were gathered in large number, probably number of dead will be quite high,’ unveiled in VOA Urdu news report.

Tiny Armed Minority can Endanger world Peace

Autumn colors were visible on roadside trees when I had reached Islamabad on Monday, it’s a beginning of spring season in Pakistan, but the leaves on trees in Islamabad are still pale, and dry. In Abpara market of Islamabad I came to have lunch after a brief meeting with our new APP boss Mr. Iqbal Hussain a thorough gentleman and seasoned bureaucrat was in a good mood.

While having a grilled chicken burger with my favorite soft drink in a restaurant where I used to come most often during my university days, and where now I was placed on a table behind large pillar of the waiter’s choice, earlier I had selected a table in front of main entrance of the restaurant hall but due to security reasons I was moved towards another table. Last month a journalist from Kohat was killed in Pindi.

In open space of the same restaurant me and my British journalist friend Roland had a dinner together in late 1990’s. He was wearing Shalwar Qameez but his skin color and blue eyes were reflecting his true origin, there was no security threat and we both had a dinner in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Mr. Richard Hall brook was also due in Islamabad on Monday, as a special envoy of President Barak Hussain Obama on Afghanistan and Pakistan, so far he had held meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Gailani and opposition leader Mr. Nawaz Sharif and had also paid a visit to Peshawar and tribal area of Mahmand Agency.

Mr. Richard Hall Book is here in Pakistan on a fact finding mission regarding present issues concerning Pak-US relations and Afghanistan, war ravaged Afghanistan though now considerably developed by US lead NATO forces but still it is a heaven for killing machines like war lords, Taliban and Alqaeeda militants, news reports reflect that militants were pushed out from Afghanistan towards Pakistan’s tribal belt bordering Afghanistan by US lead NATO forces. President Obama is also willing to deploy more US troops in Afghanistan to clean Afghanistan from militants.

Public circles in Pakistan are expecting major breakthrough regarding promotion of peace in this region, Mr. Hall Brook’s visit of Pakistan has become a ray of hope for majority of peace loving Pakistani citizens threatened by tiny minority of extremists, emanated after end of Taliban rule in Afghanistan and defeated and rejected through ballot both in Pakistan and Afghanistan is striving to take over Afghanistan and Pakistan by force. If nuclear Pakistan falls to tiny minority of Taliban and Alqaeeda militants, world peace will be endangered. Swift measures to capture and disarm militants are need of the hour, the tiny minority might gain numerical strength with growing lawlessness and lowering business activity in Baluchistan and NWFP provinces of Pakistan, economic backwardness further paves the way for growth of extremism.
