‘13 dead bodies of security forces men taken as hostage by Talibam militants during last week operation in Dara Adam Khel are found in Paya hills of Dara Adam Khel. A bid to destroy gas pipe line is foiled by Kohat police

A bid to destroy interdistrict gas pipe line with explosives is foiled by Kohat police on Tuesday, employees of Sui Northern Limited, Ayube Khan and Gulfaraz Khan have informed Sadar police station Kohat staff that under gas pipe line on Dhoda road Kohat unknown miscreants have planted explosives, immediately DSP Sadar Mr. Irshad and SHO Sadar police station Mr. Gul Jamal along with heavy contingent of police including bomb disposal squad, has reached the trouble spot, ASI Mumtaz Khan and Head Constable Jan Muhammad of bomb disposal squad had successfully defused the 12 kg heavy explosive material and have saved the gas pipeline from destruction.
For migrants during security forces operation of Dara Adam Khel tribal area under supervision of DPO Kohat, SHO Jungle Khel police station Mr. Riaz Khan Bangash had created camp near Gulshan Abad check post in Kohat where relief to the migrants were provided by police.

‘On Monday Bannu district of NWFP Pakistan school children of Domail school were made hostages by five miscreants, through council of elders school children were released, five miscreants in their effort to kidnap EDO Bannu when chased by police had entered in Domail school of Bannu and had made school children their hostage to escape arrest, council of elders have taken the miscreants into its custody and children were released unharmed,’ sources have said.

‘In Kohat Tunnel militants have destroyed light cameras and tiles but no major damage is done to tunnel, inside the tunnel during cleanup operation today head, arm and leg of an unknown person was found, a partially damaged corolla car, a Shahzoor vehicle and one totally damaged vehicle is found,’ Tunnel staff members have said.
‘Security forces men are using sniff dogs, mine and explosive detectors to clear the Kohat Tunnel and Indus Highway, till tomorrow Tunnel will be opened for traffic, so far Kohat Peshawar road was closed for traffic due to militants captivity of Kohat Tunnel,’ sources have said.
‘During the night between Sunday and Monday railway track near Ghulam Banda Kohat was destroyed by unknown miscreants, under railway track bridge number 73-51 Kahi unknown miscreants had kept explosives and after destroying the bridge with explosives have managed to escape, case against unknown miscreants is registered in Sadar police station of Kohat,’ sources have said.

Rocket attacks on Kohat

‘Three rockets from unknown direction were fired at Kohat on Saturday, one rocket was landed on populated area near GPO Kohat police has reached the spot immediately remains of the rocket shell were taken into custody by police officials, other two rockets were landed on a hill in Gulshan Abad area of Kohat,’ sources have said.
‘From last 24 hours explosions are heard in Kohat district, a huge flame on hills near Dara Adam Khel tribal area where security forces have started operation on Friday against militants, upon militants refusal to return back the hijacked five Pak Army trucks which were filled with arms and ammunition, through negotiations in council of elders.
In the evening on Saturday again effort is made to settle the issue through council of elders, meeting of council of elders is in session now,’ sources have said.
Families from troubled area of Dara Adam Khel are migrating towards Kohat, around 2500 people from have entered in Kohat mostly women and children have opted to be a guest in the houses of their relatives in Kohat.

Major Faisal Malik of Air Defense has become father of a baby boy, his Mrs. was admitted in CMH Kohat on Saturday morning at 5am where she has given birth to a baby boy, and both mother and child are in god health. Major Faisal Malik is son of Malik Bashir who was close associate of Sultan Qaboos of Muscat. Major Faisal has now two sons and a daughter, his father in Law Malik Anwer is residing in Kohat, Malik Faisal is also resident of Kohat.

Pakistan' security forces have killed 32 militants in Dara Adam Khel

On Friday at dawn Pakistan’s security forces have started their operation against militants of Dara Adam Khel, according to ISPR press release ‘so far 30 to 34 militants are killed, two security forces men are martyred and ten are injured,’ ‘militants have destroyed a bridge and microwave broadcast tower near Kohat Tunnel, militants have also fired a rocket which was landed in Gulshan Abad area of Kohat, no damage to life or property was done because the rocket was landed and exploded over a hill in Gulshan Abad,’ police sources have said.

‘Kohat garrison entry and exit routes are completely sealed, entry of men and vehicles is prohibited now, after one o’ clock from different parts of Kohat explosions are heard today, shops on Kohat Bannu road are completely closed,’ eyewitnesses have said.
‘At dusk ceasefire is made and peace negotiations between Pakistan security forces and militants of Dara Adam Khel through council of elders are now in process,’ police sources have said.

‘Road between Kohat and Peshawer is closed now due to security forces operation in Dara Adam Khel, alternate route through Nizam Pur is being used for the transport to reach Peshawar,' sources have said.

20 Taliban militants are killed in Kunar Afghanistan

‘On Saturday twenty Taliban militants are killed and dozens are injured in Kunar province of Afghanistan during armed clashes with Afghan and NATO forces, sources have said.
‘Gang of five is arrested in Karachi was planning suicide bomb attacks on mourning processions of Shiite sect people, explosive material and poison was recovered from their custody,’ sources have said.
‘A suicide bomber arrested in Dera Ismaeel Khan has confessed his involvement before law enforcement agencies in suicide bomb attack on Muhtarima Benazir Bhutto,’ an unofficial source has said.
‘Taliban militants in Dara Adam Khel are threatening rocket attacks on Kohat city in case Army operation is started against them, last week one rocket was landed in Bricks Factory owned by retired Major General KK Afridi which is located at Kohat Pindi road near WAPDA Grid Station and Paracha Town Kohat, no damage was done due to low quality explosive material used in manufacturing of the rocket, one another rocket was landed in College Town Kohat, which had caused some damage to residential building but no person was killed or injured,’ sources have said.

DIG police Kohat region Mr. Zulfikar Ahmed Cheema has said that city of Kohat and Hangu will be sealed on 9th and 10th of Muharam, no transport vehicle will be allowed to enter in these cities and normal public transport vehicle stands will be closed, police, Para military and Pakistan Army troops are deployed, cameras are being installed. Explosive detectors are being installed, security men will be deployed on roof tops and no civilian expectators will be allowed to stand on roof tops, routes of Shia sect mourning procession are declared no parking zone, traffic police men are being deployed on these routes, armed persons will be immediately arrested and cases against them will be registered.
Miscreants guilty of carrying bombs or other explosives, firing shots with fire arms or guilty of setting shops or house on fire will be shot at sight. DIG police has asked for cooperation from the people of all walks of life.
On Thursday procession of Shia sect mourners after passing through its traditional route is dispersed peacefully, main bazaar of Kohat was completely closed, public transport vehicles were banned to enter the city, all the entry and exist routes were encircled by police, till filing of this report no untoward incident is occurred.

‘Kohat police station Jungle Khel staff has recovered a snatched taxi cab in Dara Adam Khel, taxi driver Fazal Rabi resident of Bara Gate Peshawar has reached in injured condition to register first information report in police station Jungle Khel Kohat and has told the police officials that his taxi car # LRN-4333 was hired by four persons for Jerma village of Kohat on fare of 1100 rupees, when the car has reached Dara Adam Khel the four passengers became violent and after beating him badly his car was snatched by them and he was left out on the road, upon this information SHO Riaz Bangash of Police Station Jungle Khel has encircled the Indus Highway, soon the snatched taxi cab was sighted, when police cars had started chasing the snatched taxi cab, the car lifters had left the car near Shaheeda Banda and had escaped in the wilderness, after registration of case against unknown car lifters SHO of Jungle Khel police Station Kohat has referred the case to Kohat Bureau of Investigation, for further investigations,’ PRO Kohat police Mr. Fazal Naeem has informed media men regarding this whole episode.
An inter provincial flour smuggler is arrested by Kohat police, upon instructions from ASP City Mr. Ather Waheed, staff members of police picket Bannu Gate Head Constable Jabir Khan, Constables Farhad Gul and Ijaz have encircled on Railway Crossing Gate when Flying Coach vehicle # LEC-2910 coming from Pindi to Kohat was stopped and searched by police, under its seats skillfully hidden 52 bags of flour were recovered, driver of the said vehicle an Afghan refugee Panah Khan son of Almas Khan resident of Rawalpindi was arrested on charges of flour smuggling, according to police officials Panah Khan is head of an inter provincial gang involved in flour bag smuggling from Pindi to Kohat, he was buying flour bags on cheap rates and was selling these flour bags at high prices in Kohat district of NWFP.

10 persons became victim of bomb explosion in Karachi

On Saturday in Police Club Kohat DIG Police Mr. Zulfikar Ahmed Cheema has hosted a peace conference of elders of both Shia and Sunni sects to promote feeling of brother hood and friendship between both the sects in Kohat, in his opening remarks DIG Kohat has submitted that people of Kohat are quite peaceful and no incidence of Shia Sunni conflict has ever occurred in Kohat during his tenure, he has stressed the need for further improvement of relations between both the sects, so that police and Army can be utilized for eradication of crime and defense of the borders, deployment of police,FC, and Para military troops to prevent conflict between Shia and Sunni sects on such a large scale deviate these forces from their real tasks like defense of borders and crime control, promotion of understanding and peace between both the sects will help to ameliorate law and order situation within the country.

On Thursday 22 persons including 16 policemen are killed when a suicide bomber exploded himself in GPO Square of Lahore capital city of Punjab. Chief Secretary Punjab Mr. Salman Sidiq has said that suicide bomber blew his self near policemen in GPO square of Lahore, police persons were awaiting rally of lawyers near Lahore High Court, 16 policemen and six other persons are killed, 53 injured persons are hospitalized in different hospitals of Lahore.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Soomro has expressed his grief and sorrow and has condemned the terrorist attack in which 22 precious lives are wasted, he has expressed his resolve that with the help of the people of Pakistan terrorists will be defeated, he has directed Punjab government to probe into the matter and punish the elements responsible for committing this crime.

Flour shortages, price hike, load shedding and low wages are concern of general public in Kohat district of NWFP Pakistan, while traveling on Bannu Kohat road in public transport vehicle a fellow traveler having large beard on his face, has told me flour bag of 20kg is worth 500/-rupees now, due to heavy rainfall since last four days people working on daily wages are unable to carry out their jobs to earn money, a laborer working on daily wages if hired gets 200/-rupees per day, due to price hike and low wages it has become impossible for family man to feed his children.
Government media sources say that 335/-rupees shall be the price of each flour bag of 20kg because government is selling wheat bag of 40kg at price of 465/- rupees, shopkeepers says 20kg flour bag of good quality is available at the rate of 500/-rs to 560/-rs, on government utility stores flour bag of 20kg is available at rate of 310/-rs.
Due to timely steps taken by administration in Kohat people are not facing flour shortages, but in Peshawar yesterday their was a big protest rally against flour shortages and load shedding, though whole province of NWFP is facing stoppage of electricity to the consumers in big cities and small towns, people are still calm and peaceful.
Due to stoppage of electricity for long hours water supply systems are also adversely affected, in Paracha Town Kohat area on Wednesday water supply system has failed to provide water to the consumers, the attendant managing water supply system has said that due to load shedding of electricity the system is not operative any more, only one time supply of water will be possible to the residents.

Haji Nasir a goldsmith of Kohat has said that Indians charge 60000/-rs from Hujaj Karam and provide them better facilities to them in Saudi Arabia, their embassy staff contact them to resolve their problems, Pakistani Hujjaj Karam pay more then hundred thousand rupees to government for Haj expenses but are denied of better accommodation and other facilities as compare to Indian Hujaj Karam.
He has further said that Hujaj Karam of different nationalities wear same dress during Haj to express their identity as citizen of a specific country but Pakistani Hujaj Karam does not wear the dress of same color as Iranian and Hujaj Karam of some other Muslim Countries do in Saudi Arabia while performing Haj.
Meanwhile DIG Kohat Mr. Zulfikar Ahmed Cheema has visited utility stores on Tuesday to ensure smooth supply of flour bags to consumers in Kohat; he has also directed administration of Karapa flour mill to ensure timely supply of flour to utility stores in Kohat.

She was martyred on 26th of December 2007, but the gloom and despair is still dripping down from the skies on people of Pakistan, water is pouring out from clouds in shape of rain but it seems that sky is also weeping on her untimely death, she was young, beautiful, energetic, sincere and brave, highly qualified ex president of Oxford Union was martyred in Liaqat Park of Rawalpindi, she was taught in Oxford to win the people through logic and devotion, but Pakistan land of four weathers and beautiful sceneries became a slaughter house for innocent and sincere lady, in era of General Zia regime when she was struggling for democracy in Pakistan, she was jailed and kept in solitary confinement by the military ruler, now that she is martyred and she has reached to heavens she is now away from the reach of cruel and torturous people.
Each educated person in Pakistan is seriously worried about his or her own existence, threats from extremists are growing day by day, president Parvez Musharaf as he says that his mission is to end terrorism from Pakistan, shall act quickly to save rest of us, we are doing jobs to feed our families militants and their followers in settled areas are stopping us from doing our jobs and forcing us to resign from government jobs, death of Muhtarima Benazir Bhuto is death of all of the educated few in Pakistan, it was she and her father whom had upgraded and updated universities in Pakistan, and had restored the self respect of the educated few, with her departure all the hopes to escape Talibanization of Pakistani society are vanished now.

DIG Police takes notice of public complaints

‘While taking notice of public complaints against utility stores in Kohat region DIG Police Mr. Zulfikar Cheema has summoned regional manager utility stores Mr. Sher Azam on Saturday in his office and has informed him that in case complaints against salesmen of utility stores are proved to be true, cases against them will be registered and they will be arrested. DIG has directed him that he shall ensure that flour bags are sold to consumers only, DIG has also had also discussed increase in quota of flour bags to Kohat region with high ups of utility stores, increased in quota is promised to him by the high ups of utility stores corporation, during the meeting ASP city Ather Waheed, ASP Headquarter Waqas Hassan and ACO Kohat Mudasir Riaz Malik were also present. DIG Kohat has also discussed load shedding problem with PESCO provincial chief Brigadier Sakhi Marjan, PESCO NWFP chief has assured him that load shedding duration will be reduced in Kohat region,’ PRO Kohat Police Mr. Fazal Naeem has revealed this in a press release for media.

While taking notice of long durations of load shedding in Kohat district Nazim Kohat Mr. Gohar Saifullah Khan held a meeting with WAPDA chief in Kohat Mr. Arbab Khan Afridi and had expressed his concerned over load shedding, Technical adviser WAPDA Mr. Faizullah, Nazim Urban three Mr. Meer Zaman Shinwari, Nazim Billitang Misbah ud Din, Nazim Sodal Hayat Khan, Naib Nazim Urban six Muhammad Farooq and others were also present in the meeting.
Mr. Arbab Khan Afridi of WAPDA Kohat has said that damage done to transportation and railway system lack of timely supply of furnace oil for power houses in Sind and Punjab has caused this situation that shortage of electric supply is felt all over the country, for whole country 14000 MW electricity is needed, WAPDA is facing deficit of 4000MW, to recover the losses WAPDA has resorted to load shedding. He has further added that load shedding is not a local phenomenon it is initiated by federal government in Islamabad.
Mr. Arbab Afridi has said that till 15th of January load shedding hours will be ended.
District Nazim Kohat Mr. Gohar Saifullah Khan has also held a meeting with Medical Superintendent Dr. Sher Khan in his own office, a rumor regarding shifting of emergency ward from Liaqat Memorial Hospital Kohat was contradicted by both, and both have appealed to public that they shall not listen to rumors, emergency ward is still their in Liaqat Memorial Hospital and it is functioning in better manner then before, Dr Sher Khan MS KDA Hospital Kohat has advised the public to bring critically injured patients, serious heart attack cases, burn cases and in critical emergency situations, shall bring the patients to emergency ward of KDA hospital because due to availability of better facilities in KDA hospital in emergency cases precious lives can be saved.

Bomb attack on mobile police van

‘After bomb attack followed by firing on mobile Kohat police van one ASI and four other policemen are injured. During the mid night between Thursday and Friday in mobile police van of Sadar Police Station Kohat ASI Abdur Rashid, driver Akhter Zaman, Constable Akhter Gul and Constable Akhter Nawaz were doing routine patrolling on Kohat Pindi road, when the have reached near Service station bomb planted at roadside was exploded police persons were injured, after the explosion unknown miscreants had opened fire with fire arms on police van however no bullet injuries were caused to policemen, after receiving information regarding the incident DPO Kohat Dr. Waqar ud Din Syed, ASP City Ather Waheed, ASP Headquarter Waqas Hassan and DSP Sadar Muhammad Irshad along with heavy contingent of police have reached the trouble spot, the whole area is encircled and police is searching for the miscreants. Injured police persons are admitted in Liaqat Memorial Hospital Kohat where their condition is reported to be improving, case against unknown miscreants is registered in Police Station Sadar Kohat,’ Kohat police PRO has revealed this in a press release.
